Driveway and concrete cleaning in Reno and Sparks

Concrete holds onto everything: oil drips, tire marks, sprinkler rust, barbecue grease and the white film left behind by winter road treatment.

Surface cleaning, not stripe cleaning

Anyone can wave a wand across concrete and leave a zebra pattern behind. We use a surface cleaner, which is a rotating head that covers the slab evenly, so the finished driveway is one consistent tone instead of a record of where the operator was standing.

Stubborn spots get treated first. Oil and transmission drips are degreased and given time to work, rust from irrigation gets a rust specific treatment, and organic staining under trees is handled before the main pass so it does not simply lighten.

Surfaces we clean

  • Driveways, aprons and garage floors
  • Sidewalks, walkways and front entries
  • Patios, pool decks and courtyards
  • Paver and stamped concrete, cleaned at the right pressure for the joint sand
  • Curbs, gutters and parking areas
  • Retaining walls and block

For pavers we adjust pressure so joint sand stays where it belongs, and we tell you up front if an area will need sand replaced afterwards.

What our winters do to flatwork

Magnesium chloride keeps the roads open, then rides home on tires and sits on the driveway. It leaves a chalky film, it holds moisture against the surface, and freeze thaw cycles use that moisture to work at the top layer of concrete. A spring cleaning pulls that film off before it does another year of work.

Summer brings the opposite problem: fine dust that grinds into the surface with every car, plus sun bleaching that makes clean concrete look patchy next to stained concrete. Most homes here benefit from cleaning once a year, usually in spring, with a second pass in the fall for driveways that see heavy use.

Sealing is a separate service. TODO: confirm whether the Reno franchise offers concrete sealing after cleaning.

Questions we hear a lot

Can you get oil stains out of concrete?

Most oil lightens substantially with a hot water degreasing treatment. Older stains that have soaked deep into the slab may not come out completely.

Will pressure washing damage my pavers?

No, when the pressure is matched to the surface. We clean pavers at a lower setting to protect the joint sand and tell you if any sand needs replacing.

How long does a driveway take?

A typical residential driveway takes one to two hours, longer if there is heavy staining or a large amount of flatwork.

When is the best time of year to clean concrete here?

Spring, once the road treatment season is over, is ideal. Fall is a good second pass for driveways with heavy traffic or tree litter.
